Social Responsability Award - Arbiom

Award given to Emily Glenn, Business Development Director of Arbiom, a French-American biotechnology company developing processing technology to produce protein from wood, as a nutritional, economical, traceable and sustainable alternative to conventional animal and plant protein sources for human food and animal feed.

The United Nations make an urgent call for action by all countries. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all the while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests. We want to recognize the companies that demonstrate inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the Carolinas.

Arbiom upcycles wood by-products/waste from forest products & paper mills, in its process to produce a new protein source that is a nutritional, economical, traceable and sustainable alternative for feed/ food applications. It is more sustainable than current proteins in GHG’s, land and water per kg than animal or plant proteins.
