Strategy: Capgemini opts for local anchoring in Columbia, SC

Less than 1 year after their operational beginning, the results are highly positive for Mr Joe Greer, Vice President at Capgemini Columbia. He talked about it with Mr Jean Louis Vanderstraeten, VP of the French American Chamber of Commerce a few days ago. Accompanied by the executive team of the FACCC, he visited him at their new offices and exchanged about Capgemini's activity.

Recruitment, recruitment, recruitment! These are the 3 main goals of Joe Greer right now.

Capgemini Columbia employs today 130+ people, essentially young tech engineers, just out of school. They should be 200 by the summer, and 350+ very quickly. Capgemini is looking non-stop for new employees.

"Capgemini’s new Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) in Columbia, South Carolina is our first center designed to equip companies and professionals for the future world of work. Capgemini’s network of ATDC centers are a destination for talent development and immersive experiences in fast-growing areas such as digital, cloud, artificial intelligence, customer experience and emerging technologies."

It's a state-of-the-art center designed to seduce, attract and retain skills and talents. In the last few years, Capgemini noticed it is hard to keep young professionnals. Well paid jobs but heavy work rate, lot of business trips, strongs competitors that try to recruit them... All of that produce an important turnover.

Capgemini's new strategy is to invest in the long term, and to build a local work team able to work from here in an exceptionnal work environment emphazing the quality of life.

They even produced a video presenting all the assets of Columbia:
