I’d like to introduce myself to you as the new President of The French American Chamber of Commerce of the Carolinas.
I am honored and excited to be leading such an important organization for our community. I am committed to actively contribute to the economic development of the French American business in the Carolinas. I look forward to collaborating with the Executive team and all of you to leverage new opportunities to increase membership value and help this community to grow.
In a few words, my professional path led me recently to the Carolinas. After an international career for United Technologies Corp, I joined Descours & Cabaud in 2014, to develop the Group outside France, first from our headquarter in Lyon, then here since 2018 as Director D&C North America.
Descours & Cabaud is one of the global leaders in B2B distribution for the Construction and manufacturing sectors, based in Lyon, France. We have been in North Carolina since 1979, with the acquisition of Dillon Supply, a company, based in Raleigh, NC. Dillon Supply has more than 100 years of a strong presence both in South and North Carolina. The HQ of D&C North America is also based in Raleigh, NC. Needless to say the economic development of the Carolinas means something to Descours &Cabaud!
As President of the Board, I see my role as a catalyzer to support the Executive team of the FACCC. This is a great team, very dynamic which has demonstrated its capability to deliver great things in the past years. I fully support their ambition for the Chamber of Commerce of the Carolinas.
Over the next months, I will take the opportunity to talk with as many Members, partners, and other stakeholders as possible in order to get your feed-back and suggestions. I want to develop my understanding of what is at stake to better help the team to prioritize and be focused on the most valuable actions for our community all over the Carolinas.
As I can see it from now, we have two main goals: supporting the development of our community and attracting new French talents and companies to enrich our Carolinas. As President, I will support the Executive team in their ambition to develop our activities, increase our events, perpetuate great events like our annual gala, promote the region and its French-American stakeholders!
